The VIP patron party for The Family Place‘s 2018 Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon took place on the evening of Tuesday, September 25, at the legendary Crespi Estate off Walnut Hill Lane.

These days, developer Mehrdad Moayedi‘s gargantuan spread seems like one of the most popular places for an event in town. Only the day before, for example, the magnificent manse had hosted 200 for a wine tasting; the following night, 300 Realtors were expected.
The Family Place get-together wasn’t quite as large—anywhere from 50 to 75 RSVP’d—but it didn’t lack for a heady crowd. Among them were Jill Smith, Stephanie and Travis Hollman, Laura and Dennis Moon, Kristi Hoyle and Julie and Jim Turner.
The latter turned up because their daughter, Amy Turner, would be co-chairing with Sunie Solomon the 23rd annual Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon at the Omni Dallas Hotel the next day.

Together with Family Place CEO Paige Flink, Sunie and Amy greeted Paul Quinn College President Dr. Michael J. Sorrell—the 2018 Texas Trailblazer Award recipient—along with the likes of Holly Bock, Hope Woodson, Phyllis Cole McKnight, Steve Solomon, Margo McLinton Stoglin, Lisa Ogle, Cara French, and Nancy Gopez.
Much of the evening’s buzz focused on the Omni hotel luncheon, which would feature keynote speaker Tamron Hall and raise money to help survivors of domestic abuse.
