As winter is kicking in, the need for warm coats is greater than ever. According to the Community Partners of Dallas folks, “Each year, we provide thousands of winter coats for the abused and neglected children we serve. Due to unexpected circumstances, this year the need is significantly greater for donations of new coats, sizes newborn through adult. Every single coat counts!”
And while you may have a gently used coat that you’d like to donate, these kids need new coats. The reason? Most of them have never had a brand new piece of clothing, so a new jacket not only warms the body, it warms the heart and mind.
To help meet the need is simple. You have three ways to participate by
- Ordering through Walmart
- Ordering through Amazon
- Donating directly to CPD and designate your support to the Coat Drive on the “Donation Type” menu. This funding will be used by the agency to purchase coats.
- Bringing your new coat(s) to the CPD’s Central Location (1215 Skiles Street) at any time during normal business hours.
BTW, the CPD-ers want you to know that “if you order through these resources, it will ship directly to our CPD offices, but they will not receive your contact information and thus we will not be able to send you a thank you.”
The Coat Drive ends on Wednesday, November 7, so go shopping for a kid you may never know, but your gift will be warmly appreciated.
