Just when it seems like July is going to be a desert of activities following the Fourth of July, there is an oasis of fun fundraising. It’s the 4th Annual Talk of the Town on Thursday, July 12, at Vouv Meeting and Event Space.
Presented by Smith Thompson Security, the evening will include a seated dinner, games, live and silent auctions and “a fireside chat.” That last item is the ringer that will have the sports enthusiasts actually wanting to stay in North Texas just to witness this one.
The “chat” will include “legendary play-by-play broadcasters” Chuck Cooperstein, Eric Nadel and Brad Sham. Serving as referees, or rather moderators will be George Dunham and Craig Miller of “The Ticket.”
The event was the brainchild of Karen and Chuck Cooperstein to raise money for the children charity of each broadcast’s choice.
The great news is that these guys really love sports and love sharing insider tales and wisdom, as well as stories about themselves.
Here’s a thought: Instead of the ho-hum tie or the brunch at IHOP for Father’s Day, why not treat him to a night with these guys? And while you’re at it, consider going along. These five fellows are fun and who knows? You just discover that sports ain’t just for the men folk.
BTW, if you want to really impress that sport nut in your life, bid on some of the live auction items. They range from hanging with the Chuck, Eric and Brad at games to traveling to far off places. The silent auction items ain’t shabby either and will be available for online bids starting Monday, July 9.
Tickets and sponsorships are available here.
