The Dallas Museum of Art’s Board of Trustees’ new officers have been announced with Bill Lamont Jr. succeeding Melissa Foster Fetter as chairman. Catherine Marcus Rose, Shonn Brown and Susan Byrne Montgomery will continue to hold their positions as president, vice president and treasurer, respectively.
According to Catherine, “The future of our Museum is brighter because of Melissa’s intelligent guidance and enthusiastic commitment as Chairman of the Board.”
Taking on the role of secretary of the board will be Peggy Sewell, who has also served as VP of the board in past years.
New trustees elected to a three-year term included Tim Byrne, John R. Eagle, Carol Levy, Deedie P. Rose, Adrian Sada, Carrie Tharp and Sharon Young. They will join present trustees Elaine Agather, Victor Almeida, Niels Anderskouv, Barbara Durham, Tom Fagadau, Lucilo Peña, Kelli Questrom, Carolyn Rathjen and Gayle Stoffel, who are serving a second three-year term on its Board.
Serving as representative trustees for a one-year term are Mary Cook for Eugene and Margaret McDermott Art Fund, Sarah Jo Hardin for DMA League, George T. Lee Jr. for Foundation for the Arts, Cindy Rachofsky for TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art, Amanda Shufeldt for Art Ball, Robert W. Ivey III for The Forum and Kelly Moore, Junior Associates.
Completing their term of office are Sheryl Adkins-Green, Steve Becker, Nancy Carlson, Beverly Freeman, Jim Gold and Xuan-Thao Nguyen, along with representative trustees Nancy Cates for DMA League, Ray Ballotta for DMA Forum, Harry McClish for DMA Junior Associates and Rebecca Fletcher for Art Ball.
In addition to the election of new members, “a formal resolution in remembrance of Margaret McDermott, the single largest benefactor in DMA history, was approved” at the final Board Meeting of this season.
