It was a festive group of 75 members and friends of the Junior League of Dallas who gathered April 11 at the Stay ZaZa Art House and Social Gallery. And, why not? The 1,700-square-foot space was colorfully decked out for the cocktail party, which was intended to thank sponsors but also celebrated the League’s 2017-2018 accomplishments.
And, there were quite a few of them to celebrate.

After all, JLD President Jennifer Tobin and donor development chair Heather Bonfield told the gathering, the 2017 Milestones Luncheon featuring actress Octavia Spencer had been a sellout. The League would soon be receiving the prestigious, 2018 Ebby Award (for an organization) from Our Friends Place. And, as of Sunday, April 1, the JLD had raised a whopping $1.2 million for its 2017-’18 year, which ends June 1.

“Thank you, on behalf of the 5,000 members of the Junior League of Dallas,” Jennifer said to the sponsors and other JLD supporters present. Added Heather: “We are so grateful.”
Among sponsors attending were Mason King of Luther King Capital Management, Bill Braem of Children’s and Tracy Steiner of Texas Instruments.

Others enjoying the thank-you fete included Leigh Anne Haugh, Susan McSherry, Courtney Edwards, Carrie and Ted Hill, Nikki and Crayton Webb, Roberto Cortez, Staci Thetford, Monica Hart, Elizabeth and Robert Creel, Martha Wan, Whitney Walker and Brian Smiley.
