If you’ve locked down your seats for Wednesday’s Rising Stars Luncheon at Northwood Country Club, you’re going to be lunching with a gazillionaire. Houston Astros second baseman/2017 AL MVP José Altuve‘s John Hancock batted in $163.5M last week when he signed a seven-year deal with the team.
Like last year’s luncheon featuring Dak Prescott, this one has all the signs of being a home run for After-School All-Stars of North Texas thanks to Presenting Sponsors Robyn and Don Conlon family.
According the Houston Chronicle‘s Jerome Solomon, “José is smart, funny, dedicated, and delivers near-perfection on the baseball field.”
Needless to say, he and sports wealth-of-all-knowledge Brad Sham should have a great time chewing the fat together on stage. Why rumor has it that there’s even a Houston TV station coming up north to cover the luncheon.
If you were putting off getting your places at the table or at the VIP meet-and-greet until the last minute, stop waiting. That minute has just about come and gone. According to Co-Chairs Logan Stout, David and Adam Bland and Brad and Cole Reeves, there are just a few places still available.
Of course, if you hesitate, there’s always Wednesday’s opening day of the season when José and the Astros take on the Rangers at Globe Life Field. But then you’ll be fighting traffic coming-and-going, watching from afar with the multitude and wishing you hadn’t procrastinated.
