According to Behind Every Door’s Bowl-A-Rama Co-Chair/Board Member/volunteer Lori Turpin,
“Behind Every Door Ministries is hosting its Bowl-A-Rama on Sunday, September 18, at Bowl and Barrel. In addition to fun, food and football watching, this year’s event will include two bowling tournaments (one for families with children), open bowl, a silent auction, and a raffle.

“Behind Every Door was founded in 2009 to transform lives in underserved neighborhoods by being intentional and present, believing the best about those who live there, and building healthy community. “They serve at two apartment communities, one in Southeast Oak Cliff and one on the edge of Vickery Meadow. To date, they have seen a 70% decrease in neighborhood crime.

“Behind Every Door cultivates dignity, optimism, inspiration, and hope in everything they do. They believe in the ability of the love of Jesus to transform lives.
“They do this by focusing on:
- “Relationships — they learn the stories behind every door by knocking on them one at a time.
- “Collaboration — they welcome other non-profits, churches, businesses, community members, and individuals to assist in offering helpful services, programs and events, targeting these six areas:
- “Education
- “Employment/financial health
- “Physical/emotional health
- “Spiritual health
- “Mercy/social issues
- “Role models
- “Gospel: they demonstrate and proclaim the love of Jesus through acts of service and love
“Funds raised at Bowl-A-Rama will enable staff, volunteers, and ministry partners to continue this powerful impact.
