All these memories about Secretary of the Treasury from way long ago are fascinating, but there are some folks who have been on the recent frontlines of America’s history making. One of those is Condoleezza Rice, who was Secretary of State (2005-2009) during the former President George W. Bush administration. Not only was she on the front row of the infamous 9/11, the second woman to hold that position and the first African American to be SOS, she has achieved greatness at everything she tackled. Whether it was playing piano or holding her own on the subject of professional football, Condi is a force to be reckoned with.

Perhaps that’s why she’ll be the speaker at ‘The Lunch” on Friday, September 9, at the Omni Dallas Hotel benefiting Goodwill Industries of Dallas Inc.
According to Goodwill President/CEO Rodney K. Ginther, “Last year’s lunch was a great success thanks to our donors, but much more remains to be accomplished to provide services to every person that comes through Goodwill’s doors. Financial donations fund Goodwill’s education and training programs to give opportunity to many low-income, unskilled workers seeking economic independence. ‘The Lunch’ is our opportunity to thank those who make our mission possible, because together we develop job opportunities for people in our community.”

Co-Chairs Suzanne and James Johnston have been joined by Honorary Co-Chairs Carolyn and David Miller in the organization’s second fundraising luncheon. BTW, The David B. Miller Family Foundation is the presenting sponsor.
Also on board are Belle and Donald A. Berg, Jane and Pat S. Bolin, Ann and Brad Brookshire, Kelly Compton, Elana and Jerry Crawford, Lucky and R. Brooks Cullum Jr., Melinda and John F.
