Oh, goodness gracious! Any rumors of things quieting down are way out of line. News is breaking like a crate of eggs tossed from a truck speeding down the highway.
First is the announcement of the co-chairs for the 2016 Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award dinner that is honoring SMU’s Gerald Turner on Wednesday, October 19, at the Hilton Anatole’s Grand Ballroom.

Talk about a top-tier lineup! In addition to having their names on buildings and programs throughout SMU, all of them are longtime Mustang supporters.
And the co-chairs are Lottye Brodsky and Bobby Lyle, Kelli and Jerry Ford and Nancy Ann and Ray Hunt.
One of the many perks of being a Folsom awardee is the selection of how the event’s proceeds will be used. According to Methodist Health System Foundation President/CEO April Box, “This year, Dr. Turner and his wife, Gail (Turner), asked that the proceeds from the event support the programs offered through the Methodist Dallas Golden Cross Academic Clinic.”
Located across from Methodist Dallas Medical Center, the clinic uses the services of medical residents and fellows to care for uninsured and underinsured patients who are in need of primary care and struggling with chronic diseases.
Past Folsom recipients include Robert S. Folsom, Nancy Ann Hunt, Troy Aikman, Laura Bush, the late Norman Brinker, Pat and Emmitt Smith, Trevor Rees-Jones, Mike Boone, Mark Craig, Bobby Lyle and Jack Lowe.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Methodist Health System Foundation. Tickets aren’t available yet, but sponsorships can be found here!
