One of the favorite, extremely family-friendly events is Community Partners of Dallas’ Change Is Good, where kids can be kids and so can their parents. Every year organizers have to coordinate the fundraiser at Brook Hollow with the Dallas Cowboys’ schedule. For those years when The Boys play an afternoon game, TVs are set up throughout the club with dads keeping one eye on the screens and the other on their munchkins, who will be having their faces painted, bungee jumping, playing giant Jenga and Twister, playing in the bounce house and getting major sugar highs on all the goodies.
This year there will be no need for the split-eyed pops. The 10th annual Change Is Good will take place on Sunday, September 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. and the Cowboys won’t be facing the Bears until 7:30 p.m. Whew!
As for the co-chairs, those duties will be handled by Lindsay and Ray Ballotta and their kids Caroline Ballotta and William Ballotta.
One of the greatest aspects of the event is the opportunity it provides youngsters to learn about fundraising. Young guests are not only encouraged but can compete by “collecting change over the summer by emptying their own piggy banks, going door-to-door, setting up lemonade stands or starting their own online campaigns.” At the event the change is turned in to earn chances to win prizes.
Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, August 26, but sponsorship starting at $550 are available now!
