This morning is going to be the preamble for the days of rain to come. Starting just before drive-home, the rumbles are forecasted to grumble. Then it will be a week of rain, thunder and lightning. The locust and plague are on hold, thank heaven.
For those away on spring break (Hello, Highland Park, Jesuit, Richardson and Ursuline classmates) , it probably won’t mean anything. But for those who are still toiling in classrooms and offices, it’s time to break out those bumbershoots and raincoats.
The flowers at the Dallas Arboretum’s Dallas Blooms and your own lawns will gleefully gulp up the drips. But there is also the threat of the ugly side of such situations like hail and boom-bah tornadoes. So, protect your plants and cars and rethink your emergency plans. It wasn’t that long since the floods of 2015 and the terror of December 26.
As for the car washes, rest easy. You’ll be the most popular place in town come the end of this week. Don’t you just know that those scheduled for the outdoors next week are crossing their fingers and toes. Stay tuned. Negotiations with Ma Nature are underway.
