North Texas was enjoying a cool front briefly on Thursday, August 13. Replacing the 100+ temps, some folks were actually considering rummaging through their closets for those sweet sweaters. After all, the temps were breezing in the 90’s.
Over at the Residences at the Stoneleigh, a KidneyTexas crowd of about 30 was happily checking out the digs.

The draw, in addition to the pricey but spectacular Stoneleigh condos—almost half of the roughly 75 units have already been sold—was the fact that guests were bringing in items that will be auctioned off at the Runway Report on Tuesday, September 22, at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Among the goodies to be offered at the luncheon, which was a near sell-out: a $20,000 bracelet from Bachendorf’s; two dinners for 50 at the Stoneleigh restaurant; a vacation stay at a house in Deer Valley, Utah; and artist Lynn Dealey‘s signature KidneyTexas “bejeweled arm” prints.

The Stoneleigh event was hosted by The Stoneleigh’s Donna Jo Smith, KidTX President Theresa Rourk and Runway Report Co-Chairs Mary Lee Cox (duh, Theresa’s mom) and Donna Arp Weitzman.

Guests included Juli Harrison, Ramona Jones, Natalie Taylor and Goodnight Service Awardee Patty Jo Turner and husband John Turner.

As for Donna, it seems that she has been juggling all types of life experiences. Yes, she’s co-chairing the RR. But she also said her book, “Cinderella Has Cellulite,” is in its third printing, has been translated into six languages, and had reached No. 22 on an Amazon list. In addition, Donna said an appearance on TV’s Wendy Williams show was being planned this fall to flog “Cinderella”—and that she’s hard at work on a sequel (tentative title: “Prince Charming Has a Migraine”).
And then there’s that construction crew lineup at Chez Weitzman. According to Donna, husband/real estate retailing guru Herb Weitzman has embraced the home-office work style big-time and is having a free-standing office constructed on the couple’s University Park estate. Being a sharp cookie and a fashion plate, Donna has plans to transform Herb’s old office into … what else … a closet for all her clothes.
