Summer was closing down, but The Family Place’s ReuNight crowd was gearing up. Originally slated for Sunday, August 23, at the Oak, the tasting was reorganized by Chef John Tesar to happen the next day, Monday, August 24.
There were a couple of reasons. He was in Alaska on a cruise cooking up a storm with Chef Matt McAllister, an event put on by D SideDish. And then there was the fact that Oak is closed Sundays.
While ReuNight Co-Chair Nancy Rogers was in New York City with husband Richard Rogers, hre Co-Chair Robert Weatherly was front and center with Honorary Co-Chair Claire Emanuelson and The Family Place’s Paige Flink.
While the trio learned that John was orchestrating a menu based on the freshest ingredients of the fall season paired with the most yummy wines, Nathan Johnson of Gro Floral and Event Design was revealing that all the Oak furniture including the banquettes would be replaced for the Thursday, November 12th fundraiser by family-style tables and seating. If Nathan’s involved the place is gonna beyond belief.
If Nathan’s name is new on your radar, you’ll recall he created a dazzling entrance at Michael Flores Salon for Lady Rogers’ pre-Crystal Charity Ball 10 Best Dressed Champagne toast last year.
This night’s gonna be fun and fundraising. Tickets start at $1,500.
