According to John Wayne Film Festival Co-Chairs Kara and Randall Goss,
“John Wayne Film Festival, benefiting the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF) will take place this fall from September 24th to 27th at Highland Park Village Theatre and LOOK Cinemas. This is the festival’s fifth year overall, second year in Dallas and is a rare opportunity to see some of John Wayne’s most iconic and memorable films on the big screen. When this year’s Honorary Chairs, Anne and Steve Stodghill, approached us about serving as the festival chairs we were honored to accept.
“In addition to the film screenings, the festival will feature an Art Walk in Highland Park Village, a VIP dinner and live auction and opening night and closing night parties. We are proud to recognize Steve’s sister, who ultimately lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. The closing night party on the evening of Saturday, September 26th will be held in Sheri’s honor. Last year the film festival raised significant dollars to help JWCF in the fight against cancer. We are looking forward to engaging the Dallas community even more this year and raising much needed funds for the foundation. We’re extremely grateful to our sponsors Highland Park Village Theatre and LOOK Cinemas for helping us make this festival possible.
“The JWCF supports novel and innovative programs that improve cancer patients’ outcomes and save lives through research, education, awareness and support. JWCF established the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA, and their research has led to groundbreaking training, procedures and treatments. JWCF also funds an innovative skin cancer awareness and prevention program for youth called Block the Blaze.
