Yesterday Allie Beth Allman, Rev. Mark Craig and Rev. Paul Rasmussen were announced as new members of the Methodist Health System Foundation’s board of trustees. Today another announcement sprung from the MHSF — the 2015 Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award recipient.
The dinner, which is always one of the favorites of the fall fundraising season, will return to the Hilton Anatole’s Grand Ballroom on Wednesday, October 14. The event will be co-chaired by TDIndustries CEO Harold MacDowell, Bob Ferguson and Ben Houston.
What’s that? Oh, you want to know who the awardee will be. It will be businessman/community leader/philanthropist Jack Lowe Jr., who served as TDIndustries from 1980 until his retirement in 2004.
His community involvement has included serving as a Dallas Independent School District trustee, where he was president from 2005 to 2008. In addition to being a member and past president of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, Jack serves on the boards of Momentous Institute, NACD North Texas.
According to MHSF President/CEO April Box Chamberlain, “Jack’s servant leadership has helped resolve many complex business and community issues, including support for the Dallas Independent School District, Momentous Institute and others. We look forward to honoring his many achievements, which have had an incredible impact in our community. Plus, as with past Folsom events, we will have a few surprises in store for those who attend to help us honor Jack!”
And surprises indeed, since Co-Chairs Bob and Ben have worked with Jack for 50 years at TDIndustries. But it will take a lot to top last year’s monkey business.
