Not everybody is heading out of town Memorial Day. Matter of fact, some very cool people are staying put. For instance, Janet and Tony Dorsett are honorary co-chairing a two-day fundraiser for Hope’s Door — Champions for Hope.
First Event chair Cary Clayborn has arranged for the Champions for Hope Dinner at III Forks on Sunday, May 31. Yum! There will also be a silent auction and cocktails, of course.
But it won’t an all-nighter. No way. The reason? The next morning, as in Monday, June 1, there’s Champions for Hope Part II. It’s the golf tournament at Las Colinas Country Club with a 4-person scramble format, lunch, cart with green fees, player gifts and another dinner.
If Hope’s Door is familiar, there’s good reason. Last year Glenn Beck chaired “An Evening of Hope” to help support Hope’s Door “helping families affected by domestic violence.” They’ve been assisting women, children and men “being abused by someone” they love since 1986 and, unfortunately, the need for Hope’s Door has grown over the years.
