It’s that time of year when “Grovel Alerts” are starting to appear. The first on the scene is the 10th Anniversary Heroes and Handbags fundraiser at the Hilton Anatole.
Yesterday on St. Patrick’s Day, Event Co-Chairs Skye Brewer and Jennifer Dix were at Haynsworth Photography for a photo shoot of some of the primo purses that will be up at the Saturday, March 28th event. Now, some folks might think that such a photo shoot would have the co-chairs lounging with flutes of champagne, while stylists and minions hustle around prepping the items for their moment of glory. Well, in this case, the co-chairs were the stylists and minions. Using all types of resources to prop up the Pradas, Louis Vuittons, Elaine Turners, Judith Leibers and dozens of others including adorable Burberry clutches, Skye and Jennifer may have found new careers thanks to photographer Holt Haynsworth’s input and patience.
But until then they’re focused on raising monies for Heroes for Children. According to the ladies, there are only 10 tables left and they can be snatched up for $2,500 per on a first-come, first-serve basis.
When asked if they had finished collecting gently experienced designer handbags from area fashionista, they said, “Heck, no! We’ll take them up to the day of the event.” They’re also on the hunt for items that might tempt the gents to buy a goody for themselves. No, they’re not talking men’s purses (but they’ll take them or briefcases if they’re offered). They’re thinking fishing trips, golf outings, jewelry, etc.
In between shoots, they were extolling Kim Bannister’s pulling together the Big Board that will include everything from a trip to Belize, a one-of-a-kind necklace from Rare Gems of India, and a private dinner with the Zac Brown Band to much more.
If you’re going to attend the dinner and want a quick hair fresher, book an appointment via Blownaway app. Just use the code “328larissa” and you’ll get a 20% discount. Better make your reservations now because this offer expires March 25.
