When the Wright Amendment ended non-stop flight from Dallas Love Field 43 years ago, Southwest Airlines Chairman/President Gary Kelly was just 13 years old. With everybody recently waving bye-bye to the amendment, Gary has been flying into action with plans for the transformation of the Dallas-based airline.
However, he’s made time to be the keynote speaker at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas’ Key Leaders Luncheon on Thursday, October 30.
Taking place at the Hyatt Regency, the 11th annual fundraiser for the Y “was designed to connect key community and business leaders with the timely local issue that has regional impact while also sharing a few accomplishments and priorities of the YMCA.”
Past speakers have included The Container Store Chairman Emeritus Garrett Boone, Brinker International CEO/Chairman Doug Brooks, Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones, Wagner/Cuban Companies Co-Owner/Co-Founder Todd Wagner, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas CEO Richard Fisher, T. Boone Pickens, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Affairs United Health Group Dr. Reed Tuckson, Texas Rangers Baseball Club CEO Nolan Ryan and public health, planning, and transportation consultant Mark Fenton.
This year’s luncheon is being hosted by Paul Higgins, Chief Operating Officer/Managing Director of the Beck Group and Chair of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Board of Directors.
