Dr. Cate McManus is a familiar person within the MySweetCharity universe. She’s the operations manager at Dallas Animal Service. Thanks to DAS Jody Jones‘ bringing her on board, Cate has been part of the new DAS world. Cate has helped save a little dog named Duchess, who had severe urinary issues and Holly, whose owner was killed almost a year ago in an 18-wheeler accident. Those are just a minuscule tip of the good that has taken place since Jody’s and Cate’s arrival.
Today they stepped up once again. While nurse Nina Pham is being cared for Ebola, she told her family that she was concerned…greatly concerned over her King Charles Spaniel, Bentley. Part of that concern may have stemmed from the fact that the dog of a nurse in Spain, who was diagnosed with Ebola, was euthanized.
After being left in Nina’s apartment since Friday night, Bentley today met Cate, who has taken charge of his care.
Not only is it a good match, it’s almost as if Cate had been preparing for this relationship. She was a veterinarian in the military, a veterinary epidemiologist with the Virginia Department of Health and earned her Masters in Public Health.” Having her back will be the Texas A&M veterinarian team, which is truly world class.
Cate’s a no-nonsense vet, who will go the max to save a pet. But she also will put one down, if the situation calls for it.
Nina should be relieved that Cate and Bentley will work together for the best outcome.
Let’s look forward to the day when Cate reunites Nina with Bentley.
