With August temps testing outdoor venues, the indoor 19th annual Parade of Playhouses at NorthPark is ripe for checking out. Starting this Friday, the 19th annual Dallas CASA fundraiser presented by the ORIX Foundation will have 11 custom-made children’s playhouses parading in place until Sunday, August 17.
This year’s lineup includes “a pint-sized hollow tree house with a roof-top deck, perfect for backyard adventures; a rustic, charming Texas Hill Country cabin; a hook-and-ladder firehouse with a special spot for Sparky, the firehouse dog; and an adorable playhouse modeled after the Victorian cottage in the movie UP, reading for high-flying excitement.”
While the viewing is free, the fundraising is achieved through sponsorships and a raffle of the mini-homes. Tickets at $5 per or five for $20. You can get them at the ticket table at NorthPark or online.
According to brand new Dallas CARA Executive Director/President Kathleen LaValle, “Parade of Playhouses is a reminder that all children deserve to be protected and loved. Funds are raised through event sponsorships and raffle ticket sales. Visitors have the opportunity to win dream playhouses so that abused children can have the safe homes they dream of.”
