You’re more likely to win the Powerball lottery than to have a fundraiser at Al Biernat’s. But the Mosaic Family Services has managed to achieve just that — Al Biernat’s! On Wednesday, May 7, the gathering place for celebrities and those-who-make-things-happen will be the scene of the First Annual Fashion for Freedom Luncheon.
But don’t go a-thinking that it’s going to be a ladies-with-white-gloves-type event. Oh, please! Those haven’t been around since the S&S Tearoom left Highland Park Village. This lunch is going to be fun with food and fashion.
In addition to a choice of three of one of three salads, key lime and coconut cream pies and champagne, the event will kick off with a Mosaic Martini reception.

Following lunch, there won’t be one fashion show. Nope! There will be two featuring Abi Ferrin and New York City-based Juliette Longuet plus a pop-up store, “where guests can purchase their favorite items from the runway.”
And to add a flair of gentlemanly charm, the Freedom luncheon will have both restaurateur Al and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings on hand.
Just in case Mosaic Family Services is new on your radar, it ‘s been around for 20 years offering “free shelter, legal representations, counseling and support services to survivors of human rights abuses.”
Seating will be limited to 150, so hop to it and make your reservation. You probably were going to lunch at Al’s anyhow, so why not have it benefit Mosaic?
