“Save the date for September 19! Annually, North Texas Giving Day helps Turtle Creek Chorale to create awareness for its art: the art of creating extraordinary musical experiences. From 7a.m. to midnight on this day only, gifts to Turtle Creek Chorale are eligible for bonus funds from Communities Foundation of Texas and other area foundations.
“For Turtle Creek Chorale, North Texas Giving Day is all about supporting our music. The funds raised from this year’s day of giving will support the music we make – from purchasing music for our 160 singing members – to commissioning new arrangements, including this year’s ‘Twas in the Moon of Wintertime’ and ‘Watching Over Me’ – to engaging musicians and accompanists for our performances.
“In 2012, Turtle Creek Chorale more than doubled the number of donors over the previous Giving Day and secured 90% of the funding for the 2012-2013 purchase of music and commissioning of new arrangements. This year, Turtle Creek Chorale is determined to raise 100% of the funds needed for music, which equates to $20,000.
“Interim Executive Director Hank Henley says: ‘We are so excited for North Texas Giving Day. Last year, I had so much fun watching the Facebook posts where the singing members kept encouraging and egging each other on as the midnight deadline drew closer. One member would set a goal amount, and as soon as that amount was reached, another goal was proposed! It was so rewarding to watch the members take such pride in their organization.’
“On September 19, small ensembles of Turtle Creek Chorale will be the headlining performer at the Home Stretch Party and Communities Foundation of Texas’ 60th Birthday Celebration. Come watch the final donations roll in and listen to the incredible sounds of Turtle Creek Chorale.
“For over 34 years, Turtle Creek Chorale has presented music that entertains and inspires audiences of all ages to the Dallas community. Join Turtle Creek Chorale as they kick off the 2013-14 Season: Laughter & Love with ‘Deconstructing Broadway’ featuring special guest Seth Rudetsky on October 20 at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
“Turtle Creek Chorale is proud to partner with the Communities Foundation of Texas, The Dallas Foundation and the Center for Nonprofit Management to make North Texas a great place to live and enjoy the arts!”
