The Scissor-tails & Cocktails fundraiser for the Trinity River Audubon Center tonight was originally planned to have campfires, strolls through the grounds and simple enjoyment of the surroundings.
Well, uh, Mother Nature just couldn’t stand being on good behavior status any longer and is spreading rain throughout the region.
The good news? In the days ahead, everything will be a lot greener, thanks to the rain.
The not-so-good news? Campfires are looking a bit doubtful.
But the great news? The party is still on. Luckily, there is a marvelous indoor center that will be so perfect for a party. According to Center Director Ben Jones, the party was “almost all indoors. . . so the rain shouldn’t be a problem.”
So, go ahead and wear that casual cocktail attire that you had originally planned and head on over to party with Honorary Chairs Cecilia and Garrett Boone.
