Last night’s postponed talk by New York Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson has been rescheduled. Here is the missive that was just received:
“On the heels of overseeing intensive coverage of the tragic Boston Marathon bombings, New York Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson will be in Dallas May 2 to lecture on “Quality Journalism’s Role in the Hyper-Speed News Cycle.”
“This year’s Louise B. Raggio Endowed Lecture, sponsored by SMU Dedman School of Law, will take place at 7 p.m. at the Belo Mansion & Pavilion, 2101 Ross Ave.
“Tickets, $25, are available online at www.law.smu.edu/Forms/Events/Lecture/Raggio-Lecture.
“This lecture was re-schedule from April 22; previously purchased tickets will be honored at the event. For more details, contact Rebekah Bell at [email protected] or 214-768-4177.”
We have been advised by SMU’s Denise Gee that “she’ll address the NYT‘s Boston Marathon bombing coverage and how it plays into the new “hyper-speed news cycle in general.”
