Alas, there is some confusion about the upcoming Art Ball. So, let’s set the record straight. The Dallas Museum of Art’s website and other media outlets are reporting that the seated dinner and after-party will take place in the nearby Klyde Warren Park.
But as Dallas Morning Newsie boldface-naming expert Alan Peppard reported back on March 6,
“In related DMA news, the upcoming Art Ball has had a change of venue. The April 18 gala is being chaired by Jennifer Karol and Neiman Marcus scion Catherine Rose (daughter of former Neiman’s chairman Richard Marcus and granddaughter of Stanley Marcus).
“They had planned to take advantage of the new Klyde Warren Park as one of the venues for the gala, but the deck park is packed with visitors these days. Rather than intrude, Karol and Rose will withdraw into the confines of the museum.
“Designer Todd Fiscus is planning a massive dinner tent on the museum’s Ross Avenue plaza.”
That’s 99% right.
The 1% wrong?
The ball is on Saturday, April 13. Didn’t want you to show up on the wrong date.
UPDATE (4:00 p.m.) : The DMA website just posted that the dinner and after party will be held at the DMA.
