According to the Dallas Zoological Society Director of Special Events and Volunteers Beth Mayfield,
“I have been a part of the Dallas Zoo family for over 25 years. I started as volunteer for the Dallas Zoo in 1978. Back then I was the coolest mom on the block because I worked at the Zoo! I have a love for all animals and can’t walk into an animal shelter and not take an animal home. So the Zoo was the perfect place for me. I can’t take the lions home
“Over the past few years, the Dallas Zoo has seen tremendous growth and we are on our way to becoming one of the best zoological experiences in the country. Our mission at the Dallas Zoological Society is to support the Zoo as a place of education and wildlife conservation. There are many ways people in the community can help our mission. You can always give a simple monetary donation to the Dallas Zoo or if you want a little more involvement, our Adopt-An-Animal program is a great way to show support. You get the satisfaction of being an ‘animal parent’ but our fabulous animal keepers and staff do all the work. Animal adoptions make great gifts; the money goes to helping provide habitat, lifestyle and environmental enhancements for the animals in our care.
“To make a donation to the Dallas Zoo or to become a volunteer, call 469.554.7400 or visit www.DallasZoo.com.”
