There is life after Cattle Baron’s Ball 2012. Here are some activities, news and suggestions resulting from the event on Saturday night.
Cattle Baron’s keeps on rolling
The live auction Saturday was hot and lively, so why not keep going and raising the money to fight cancer? That’s exactly what Co-chairs Skye Brewer and Kristen Johnston thought. But where, oh where, to have it? With the threat of temperatures plunging, outside was out of the question. But where would Cattle Barons and Baronesses feel right at home? Why a steakhouse, of course, but it couldn’t be just any old steakhouse. So, the good folks at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse offered their place on Lombardy this Sunday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a celebration featuring delicious food and beverages. There will even be “a silent auction with wonderful items such as an African safari, lunch on the set of Dallas including a meet-and-greet with Larry “J.R.” Hagman. . . a special guitar that was signed by our hero, Blake Shelton, and much more.”
What’s that? What about the Cowboys? Oh, come on. You didn’t really think that the CBB gals would allow you to miss Romo-moment. The Cowboys are off this weekend.
Here’s a thought: Drop off your spare change at Change is Good (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.) benefiting Community Partners of Dallas, and then head on over for some grow-up refreshments and some shopping at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. And lucky are you who have Columbus Day off. There will be no excuse for leaving early.
Ah, but there’s a catch. You gotta RSVP. After all, how are they gonna know how many to feed? So call the Cattle Baron’s office (214.443.9222) and tell them you’re coming.
Boot Rehab
Deno’s in HP Village is once again offering a special deal ($29.99 per pair) for CBB guests, whose boots brought home more than their share of Southfork mud.
Free marketing suggestion
A smart valet company would spend the money to have paper floor mats with their logos ready for those rainy, icy and messy occasions. The Park Place mats Saturday night saved the day for many carpeted floor mats.
