Mega-concerts are be a bit overwhelming. And then there’s that cramped feeling at the big musical venues. Sometimes you just need something a little more intimate without being squashed and yet just a tad bit naughty.
That’s why musical producers created cabarets. Yes, you already know about the Cabaret Gala benefiting the Dallas Children’s Theater at the Venetian Room, but did you know about The Turtle Club? It’s described as “an intimate cabaret show to preview season 33.” What season? The Turtle Creek Chorale‘s 33rd season!
Thank goodness it’s taking place Saturday, August 11, so that means you’ll be hungry for the DCT cabaret in October.
Now, don’t go confusing the two cabarets. The Turtle Club is taking place at the Bath House Cultural Center with cocktails at 7 p.m. and the performance starting at 8. There will be an intermission at which time desserts will be served.
TCC Artistic Director Trey Jacobs has arranged for some of the TCC members to provide “a preview of Turtle Creek Chorale Season 33 music from ragtime, coronations, Kander & Ebb and a few naughty holidays favorites from ‘A Very Turtle Christmas.'”
