Long known for her role as the Metroplex Animal Coalition‘s director of Animal Advocacy and Communication, Jonnie England will take on a new position starting August 16. That’s when she will also be director of Animal Advocacy and Communications for the Texas Humane Alliance (THA).
If THA is new in your vocabulary, it should be. According to Jonnie, the group
“launched last month with the announcement of a $25,000 reward, thanks to an anonymous donor, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for torturing and trying to kill little Hope, the dog found with electrical tape wrapped around her muzzle in Parker County.”
THA’s mission is to improve the lives of animals through education and advocacy. It is a sister organization to the Texas Humane Legislation Network that was founded by animal-law attorney Yolanda Eisenstein.
In other words, Jonnie will “continue much of the work I’ve done for the past four years with the Metroplex Animal Coalition, but on a broader scale.”
BTW, speaking of Hope, she’s living the grand life with Kit and Charles Moncrief, who adopted her. She just moved in last week. Kit’s only regret is that Hope can’t talk and tell them who abused her.
