North Texas has gone through a long afternoon of sirens wailing and treacherous weather everywhere. While some have come through with just rattled nerves, others in Lancaster, Cleburne, Forney and other parts of the area lost everything.
Look around your home. Think what you would need if all was taken away from you. That’s the situation that some of our neighbors are facing. We’re not talking about big screen TV’s. These folks don’t even have toothpaste. They will scoff off the situation saying they have insurance and are grateful no lives were lost, but they still must face the daunting task of recovery and rebuilding.
This is a great time to take the “MySweetCharity Neighbor Test.” There will be no galas, lunches with celebrities or 5K runs. There isn’t time. An immediate call-to-action is needed. Whether it’s donating cash to the Red Cross and Salvation Army or delivering clothes, toys and food to area firehouses or places of worship, there are plenty of ways to score high points on this test.
Don’t be shy. Go ahead and take the MySweetCharity Neighbor Test. All it takes to pass is to help. Only you will know how you score.
