Karol Omlor reports about the Dallas Theater Center Guild’s Monday Salon:
“The Dallas Theater Center Guild’s second Salon Series event took place at the home of Donna Wilhelm and John Gunn. After the positive feedback following the first salon event in May 2011, Guild Co-Presidents Vicki Newsom and Sherry Peel reported that this event sold out within three days after the arrival of the invitations. Guild members and their guests joined fellow theater enthusiasts for an evening of cocktails, a light dinner and stimulating discussion about the Dallas Theater Center’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird.
“Talmage Boston, an attorney with Winstead, P.C. in Dallas, was the featured speaker. Boston, author of “Who Was Atticus Finch?” in the June 2010 issue of Texas Bar Journal, shared facts about Harper Lee‘s and her father’s lives showing that many parts of Mockingbird are essentially true as remembered from the author’s young eyes. Boston believes that since its publication, To Kill a Mockingbird has caused generations of children to dream of becoming lawyers with the same unimpeachable integrity as had Atticus Finch in the novel.
“In addition to Mr. Boston, the Guild welcomed Jeremy Webb, the actor who plays Atticus Finch in the current production of Mockingbird at the Dallas Theater Center. Webb discussed his character development in preparing for this role in the DTC production.”
