Was unable to attend the Les Femmes du Monde‘s 2011 Woman of the Year‘s seated dinner honoring Tincy Miller at Brook Hollow Golf Club. But evidently it was quite an event, with guests speed-texting updates throughout the dinner about the presentation of a surfboard instead of a plaque to Tincy, one guest taking a nasty fall, and the near-omission of Caroline Rose Hunt in the readout of past honorees.
Highlight of the evening was Tincy’s speech. It garnered an A+, but you’d expect that from her.

Tincy was presented a beautiful engraved waterford vase, letters from her daughter and grandchildren, and tributes from her two best friends.
The fall was not a nasty fall it was a simple case of a chair coming out from under you when going to sit down.
Hours and hours of very hard work went into the evening smiles filled the room, feet tapped to the music of ENCORE!
The most important part however is tens of thousands of dollars were raised for two educational programs – one of WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL and the other of CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER.
I hope I misinterped the seemingly mean spirited tone to the post, I would not have expected that from a lady such as yourself. I have always respected your interpretation of events. I hope I am wrong.

Michelle,
It was not mean spirited in any sense. In fact, I tried to make it as positive as I could after having four different sources tell me about the event. I’m happy to hear that money was raised and you felt a good time was had by all. Keep up the good work.
