Thursday, April 14, 2011: Dallas-born Drew Brees is known nationally for having quarterbacked the 2010 Super Bowl-winning, New Orleans Saints to victory. The Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) has scored in having him as the featured speaker at the fourth annual Appetite For Advocacy Luncheon at the Sheraton Dallas.
In addition to Drew, the Ruth Sharp Altshuler Award and the Bill Walsh Award will be presented to a community leader and professional, respectively, who have gone “above and beyond the call of duty to help support abused children in our community.”
Luncheon Chair Gina Betts is expecting 700 guests at the luncheon.
For sports lovers wondering about Drew’s involvement in the NFL players/owners negotiations, he’s one of 10 plaintiffs in an anti-trust lawsuit against the NFL owners. But he’s still hopeful that things can work out.
