Just like neighbors borrowing a cup of sugar from the folks next door when they’re in a pinch, so the AT&T PAC neighbors are just as obliging.
Seems that last night “It’s a Bird. . . It’s a Plane. . . It’s Superman” cast member Patrick Cassidy‘s voice was failing him and no understudy was in the wings to play Patrick’s role of Max Mencken. The decision was made to cancel the performance for the evening. As audience members arrived at the Wyly to see the man-of-steel, they were greeted with Dallas Theater Center staffers who explained the situation and offered them tickets for other nights in addition to tickets last night to “Beauty and the Beast” across the street at the Winspear.
According to DTC’s Jacob Cigainero, “We try to compensate our invaluable patrons when there’s an unavoidable or unexpected inconvenience. Patrick is resting.”
According to Unfairpark‘s Elaine Liner, the show will go on regardless tonight with choreographer Joel Ferrell subbing in for Patrick.
BTW, kudos for the quick thinking on the part of the DTC team. A certain smartphone manufacturer needs to learn to act so quickly when there’s a problem.
