JUST IN: Texas Fav Pat Green To “Shoot For The Stars” For Cattle Baron’s Ball On The Winston And Strawn Live Auction Stage At Gilley’s

There’s been a question floating in the Cattle Baron’s Ball universe — Who will be on the Winston and Strawn Live Auction Stage at Gilley’s on Saturday, October 21?

Pat Green (File photo)

CBB Co-Chairs Sunie Solomon and Anne Stodghill have finally provided the answer. It will be the troubadour of Texas, Pat Green. It seems like he’s been everywhere lately, but Sunie and Anne managed to lock him down to get the tempo in overdrive and the arms warmed up to raise the paddles for the live auction of luxury packages that will follow his concert.

After the bidding workout, the crowd will mosey on over to the Texas-sized tent for a concert by Brooks and Dunn.

All types of underwriting opportunities are available now, but they’re stampeding out of sight. As for the individual tickets, they go on sale on Friday, September 1.

BTW, don’t forget to buy your tickets for killer raffle items. After all, it’s time for a new set of wheels from Park Place, a $10,000 debit card from PlainsCapital Bank, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady Datejust 28 from Eiseman, a $10,000 shopping spree at Highland Park Village, or a dreamy three-night stay at Chileno Bay. Wouldn’t it be a little piece of heaven to win all the raffle items? Buy your outfit at HP Village, drive to the airport in your Park Place wheels, lease a private jet with your debit card and show off the time to all the other guests at Chileno Bay. Talk about “dreaming as big as Texas”! If you want to get a head start on the herd, you’ll need to call CBB offices (214.443.9222) or corral one of the Baronesses because you can’t buy raffle tickets online. Boo-hoo.

Mad Hatter’s Tea Judges Scored With Some Pretty Heady Escorts For The Arboretum’s Fundraiser Patron Party At Amy And Kelsey Warren’s Estate

As Pat Green surveyed Mad Hatter’s Tea Honorary Co-Chair Amy and Kelsey Warren’s backyard, he laughed when someone asked him if it was bigger than his spread in Fort Worth on Tuesday, April 25. What brought the country-western singer to Dallas was the Mad Hatter’s Tea patron party. No, he wasn’t going to be entertaining at the tea the following Thursday. But his adorable blonde wife Kori Green was going to be one of the category judges and Pat was playing the role of escort for the evening.

Still another escort was Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, who was also playing a secondary role to wife Micki Rawlings, who also was to be a judge.

But wait! There was still another judge in the crowd overlooking the palatial grounds. It was restaurateur Tracy Rathbun with “her husband.” Tracy told “her husband” she had been amazed earlier in the day at how itty-bitty Simone Biles was at the “A Chance to Soar” benefiting Jonathan’s Place.

Others in the crowd were the Honorary Co-Chairs Amanda Hill, Women Council of the Dallas Arboretum President Melissa Lewis, evening’s chair Emilynn Wilson and husband Claude Wilson, Anne Stodghill, Phyllis and CJ Comu, Joani White and Jocelyn White, who would be emcee at Saturday’s Equest Gala as well as the Mad Hatter’s Tea.

Salvation Army DFW’s Doing Most Good Luncheon In Fort Worth Featured Golf Pro Lee Trevino And Texas Country Singer Pat Green

Sometimes folks on this side of Six Flags Over Texas don’t realize that the Salvation Army DFW provides support for Fort Worth as well. In addition to providing much-needed services, it also rallies financial support by holding events. On Tuesday, April 28, one such event took place with a PGA champ and a “green” American Texas Country artist. Here’s a report from the field:

Six-time PGA Champion Lee Trevino has proven he is still the most entertaining personality in the world of professional golf. Trevino spoke at the Salvation Army’s 2015 Doing The Most Good Luncheon held at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. He aced the keynote speech with funny stories from his life and years on the PGA tour.

The event included a video of former professional football player John Corker, who told the story of how he lost his career to drugs but found his life again thanks to the Salvation Army’s Drug & Addiction Program. Corker is now a Salvation Army Fort Worth advisory council member.

Corker’s video included a golf challenge to Trevino who happily accepted it.  Trevino called Corker to the stage at the end of his keynote speech and presented the 6’6” former linebacker with a new club. Then, Trevino jokingly told Corker it wasn’t right for him and that they’d have to take it back to wherever they got it.

Country music hit maker, Pat Green, who has released a string of top 10 hits and sold more than two million albums, sang America the Beautiful and led the entire room in a second verse sung a cappella.

Lee Trevino and Bobby Patton*

Bobby Patton, honorary co-chair of the event, is part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and a driving force behind this year’s Crowne Plaza Invitation at the Colonial. Patton introduced Trevino as “a poor kid who taught himself how to play a rich man’s game and became a champion.” Patton also drew a chuckle when he told the crowd, “Though he (Trevino) does not believe in luck on the golf course, he has been struck by lightning. But says he’s learned to let God play through.”

Brian Estridge, WBAP morning news anchor and voice of the TCU Horned Frogs, emceed the event.

Cattle Baron’s Trailblazers Celebration Was Short On Skirts And Long On (Pat) Green

Fashionably short and long

You would have thought the Cattle Baron’s Ball‘s Trailblazer’s Party at Eddie Deen’s on May 17 was the real CBB. The major players ($2,500 sponsors and above) were there. Calls had been coming during the day with people wanting to know how to “buy tickets,” but none were to be had. The attire was definitely CBB with skirts and shorts as short as an armadillo’s whisker and legs as long as the drive on Interstate 10 from Austin to El Paso.

Pat Green

In addition to lots of food, drinks and birds of a similar feather flocking together, the big draw of the night was Pat Green. Yeah, he’s been in Dallas enough to be a registered voter, but there’s a reason. Dallas loves this guy.

At the meet and greet for big-time sponsors, the lineup had people trying to sneak in for a second round of snaps with the affable Pat.

Kristen Johnston, Pat Green and Skye Brewer

You know Pat has entertained at so many Cattle Baron’s events, he may just hold some kind of record. Officially, he’s appeared three times at CBB (2002, 2004 and 2008), as has Willie Nelson (1982, 1996 and 2004). Now you can impress your friends with that little bit of trivia.

Brooke Shelby and Mary Gill

The big news of the night was the announcement made earlier in the day that Mary Gill and Brooke Shelby would be chairing the 2013 Cattle Baron’s Ball (aka 40th anniversary gala).

Emma Beanland

Other items of news included Olivia Kearney‘s and Tanya Foster‘s giggling about heading

Olivia Kearney, Gregory Dunbar and Tanya Foster

to Nancy Roger‘s birthday in Cabo.  In addition to lavish gifts, Nancy is gonna be surprised with a pair of kittens from Los Cabos Humane Society. This is especially poignant, since it was a year ago that her beloved Angelo died. . . Speaking of animal lovers, Lee Bailey toting gilded popguns was much happier that her black swan was back from birdie hospital. Poor guy had been attacked resulting in a crunched beak. . . Lee’s buddy Emma Beanland proved talented as she managed to bring a round of drinks for the table. . . A shiny new Fisker parked at the front raising eyebrows and questions, “What’s a Fisker?” Before becoming too “obsessed,” check with the Sewell folks. They were co-sponsors of the Trailblazer’s Party along with PlainsCapital.

Just In: Blake Shelton, Mark Chesnutt, Pat Green And Emerald City Fill Cattle Baron’s 2012 Dance Card

Those Cattle Baron’s ladies sure love their entertainment. Tonight at the Omni the gals gathered to hear what the big-name entertainment was going to be for the 2012 ball. OMG, so much more than planned!

  • Blake Shelton

Adorable newlywed Blake Shelton, who just performed with his adorable wife/Oklahoma gal Miranda Lambert at the Super Bowl, will be headlining the Andrews Distributing Main Stage.
  • Dallas’ fav band, Emerald City, will be performing on the Live Auction Stage AND at the late night party.
  • For the VITs (Very Important Types), Mark Chesnutt will entertain the VIP party sponsored by Softlayer, hopefully with the lights on.
  • In addition to the big September 29 hooha, alway- so-favorite Pat Green will be taking the main stage for the Trailblazers Party on May 17 sponsored by PlainsCapital Bank.

Don’t know about you, but these CBB announcement parties are fun enough to be the major event.
