Surrounded By French Fashions, Equest Women’s Auxiliary Committee Learned About Wylie Sale And Style Show’s Honorary Chair

With French designer Roland Mouret holding court in the Glass House of Neiman Marcus Downtown, the Equest Women’s Auxiliary committee members like Auxiliary Founder Louise Griffeth, Elsa Norwood, Linda Secrest, Di Johnston and Stacey Walker, were being hosted by NM Downtown VP Jeff Byron for lunch on Thursday, May 18.

As models floated around the tables, Roland didn’t mind taking a purse from a couple of models and setting them aside until he spotted another walking mannequin whose look was ramped up with the addition of one of the errant purses.

The big news of the day was Equest CEO Lili Kellogg’s reporting that the original Equest home base in Wylie had been sold thanks to Equest Board Chair Andy Steingasser, who also negotiated the cash deal and donated his commission to Equest.

According to Lili, the Equest program would be based at Texas Horse Park, where they could focus all their energies on established programs and expand to include partnerships with Paul Quinn College, the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Independent School District.

In the meantime, she reported that the staff was busy making the move out of Wylie with a deadline of Thursday, June 1.

Regarding the Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon and Style Show on Tuesday, October 3, at Brook Hollow, Equest Women’s Auxiliary President Angie Kadesky and Luncheon Chair Beth Thoele revealed that Robyn Conlon would be serving at the honorary chair.

Today must be “Honorary Chair Announcement Day.” This morning it was the news that 105-year-old Margaret McDermott would serve as the honorary chair for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala.

Now, Equest Women’s Auxiliary President Angie Kadesky has revealed that joining Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon And Style Show Chair Beth Thoele for the Equest fundraiser will be Robyn Conlon as honorary chair.

Presented by Highland Park Village, the fashions on the runway at Brook Hollow on Tuesday, October 3, will be from HPV with Jan Strimple heading up the production.

Hooves And Heels Stood Their Ground At Jimmy Choo’s For The Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon And Style Show Patron Party

Equest’s Sugar, the mini-ambassador equine, has retired to grazing with a 19-year-old gelding. In her place on Wednesday, September 28, was mini-ambassador newbie Dare, who knew just the right pose with guests at Jimmy Choo’s for the Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon and Style Show Patrons Party.

Why, Dare was such a showstopper that passerby sisters 9-year-old Tyler Singleton and 12-year-old Reese Singleton couldn’t help but stop in their tracks to meet the little gelding. While not quite Jimmy Choo-ish, Tyler’s purple glitter clogs seemed to fit in with the sparkling shoes on display in the Jimmy Choo windows.

As Equest Women’s Auxiliary President Di Johnston and Luncheon Chair Kara Axley greeted guests like past Equest Luncheon chairs Angie Kadesky and Emilynn Wilson, honoree Lindalyn Adams made the rounds thanks to a super-duper, sit-down walker with spiffy cane.

Needing no assistance in getting around were Honorary Co-Chairs Lezlie and Bill Noble, who just strolled down from Bill’s headquarters and were joined by Equest CEO Lili Kellogg.

Of course, one of the highlights on the shelves were the Jimmy Choo boots. Why, they practically pay for themselves. Whether it’s Equest, Cattle Baron’s just honky-tonking around, couture boots are always the footwear du jour in these parts.

Equest Women’s Auxiliary Hands Over A $265,000 Check And Gets Good News In Return

The Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon check presentation at Carolina Hererra turned out to be more than guests expected on Wednesday, November 19. No, the Equest mini-ambassadors Star and Tex were not present. But there was another surprise “a-hoof”… or, rather afoot.

Co-Chairs Katherine Coker and Angie Kadesky were like two peas in a pod. They looked adorable and thanked everyone associated with the Equest fundraiser. It was enough that they announced the check of $265,000 as being turned over to Equest, but then Equest CEO Patrick Bricker told the group that they hoped to get a few of the Equest horses to Texas Horse Park within a few weeks. He also said that thanks to meeting with neighboring communities, the proposed tollway that would have spelled a bronco of a problem for the Equest operation in Wylie had failed.

Then Patrick revealed that Equest fav Lili Kellogg had just been named Equest’s executive director for Texas Horse Park. Equest vets gasped in delight. Lili starts January 15.

W.C. Fields used to warn, “Never work with kids and animals.” It wasn’t that he was scared of them. He just knew that no one could upstage them, not even him. His words were validated at the Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon and Style Show on Tuesday, October 7, at Brook Hollow.

But kids had their work cut out for them, as Highland Park Village fashions from Ralph Lauren, Lela Rose, Bruno Cucinelli, Leggiadro, Hadleigh’s Baby, Hadleigh’s and Carolina Herrera kept eyes following the runway designs.
