While the chefs were preparing food, the talk included Mary Kay’s Crayton Webb back in town and Nikki swearing she was going to stay true to saying, “No” for volunteering…except for Cattle Baron’s…Shelle and Michael Sills were headed to a birthday party…Jana and Mike Brosin reported that they’ll be heading up Dallas CASA’s Champion of Children Award Dinner on Wednesday, October 14, at the Fairmont.
But before everyone toddled off, Côtes du Coeur Chair Kate Rose Marquez took her place on the winding stairway and addressed the group (Nancy Gopez, Jennifer Sampson and Côtes du Coeur Gala Chair Kristen Sanger), introducing sponsor Merrill Lynch’s Gillian Breidenbach. Then Kate Rose told of the developments that took place resulting in her personal battle against heart disease. Despite having a healthy heart, her episode with strep throat ended up with entering the world of heart disease and the threat that she would never have children. She then introduced Baylor Scott & White cardiologists, who told of the amazing promises that were in the future for those battling heart disease.
