For the past few weeks, MySweetCharity has posted truly amazing stories by area nonprofits hoping to get your attention for North Texas Giving Day.We regret that we couldn’t run all of them. But there are 1,600 organizations participating this year. Whew! If you didn’t see your fav group posted, check the NTGD page to find out if it is indeed one of the 1,600 and how to support it.
Within hours, North Texas Giving Day will commence. Starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, area nonprofits are keeping their fingers and toes crossed that you’ll grace them with a donation. Last year more 75,000 donations provided $25.2M to 1,350 organizations that help your neighbors and you.
This year’s 1,600 nonprofits mean that the $25.2M figure must be broken. But it can only be done if you open up your old pocketbook and separate yourself from some moolah. Yes, everyone knows that North Texas generosity trumps all others, but on this day, it’s absolutely, really, truly important.
There will be activities throughout North Texas to raise awareness and funds on this day. But if you want some real excitement, food and see some of the nonprofits in action, then head over to Communities Foundation of Texas from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Not to be too terribly naughty, but wouldn’t it fun to overload the NTGD systems with donations like you did a couple of years ago. But Brent Christopher and his trusty troopers have really ramped up their “war room” and they’re ready for all types of donations until midnight. So, have a blast and blast them with $$.
Just as Cinderella learned, it’s all over at midnight.
