First, the Cattle Baron’s gals braved the wrath of Mother Nature for the third time in five years. Boy, was the old “broad” brutal.
Then they raised more than a record-breaking $1.3M in the live auction thanks to Aaron Shelby’s grandfather’s last Ford Mustang GT500 Super Snake going for $235K and Nancy Rogers’ once again being the sweetheart of area charities.
Now, if you’ll get out your calculator and work in the incredible efforts of the CBB’s underwriters, you’ve already gotten to a pretty phenomenal amount. But then just before Rascal Flatts took over the stage (more about that situation later), CCB Co-Chairs Mary Gill and Brooke Shelby announced that a one-time-only gift of $3.4M was being added to the coffers. . . as long as it was “restricted to pancreatic cancer research.”
According to the MSC abacus, that means CBB may have reached the record-breaking amount of $6M.
So, Mother Nature, take that and stow it in your very special mud pit.
