If St. Patrick Can Get 100,000, Surely Mayor Mike’s Men Rally Can Achieve 10,000

This past Saturday the MySweetCharity elves took a break and headed to Greenville to party hearty with more than 100,000 people and countless leprechauns. They were astounded by the number of folks who had come from Rockwall, Forney, Frisco, Oak Cliff and all area ZIP codes.

In the MSC espresso/hot chocolate klatch this morning, the MSC elves were comparing notes about what they experienced. One saw a woman with green toenails. Another saw hordes with arms uplifted for freebies to be thrown from the floats. Some were surprised to see the crowds throwing marshmallows at the floaters. Such a mess it made on the streets. “What a waste of good marshies,” the youngest elf said.

Then the MSC elder elf, who is wondrous in wisdom, seemed concerned. His brow was furrowed like a newly plowed cornfield.

The youngest elf asked if the elder was bothered by the boisterous fun of the weekend. Secretly the other elves just knew that the elder was going to give some disapproving comment because Snoop Dog had not issued a backstage invite to the old elf.

“I’m happy that the weather was wonderful and they had an amazing turnout and support for St. Paddy’s parade. You know I knew Pat back in the old days,” said the wizened geezer.

“Then why the brow in need of Botox?” asked the youngster.

“I only hope that this Saturday there is a similar showing of support and involvement that takes place for Mike,” said elder. “True, my buddy WFAA weather wizard Steve McCauley says that we may have a cold front hitting Dallas, but the problem of domestic abuse knows no time change or change of temperatures.”

If you’re a gent, show up for Mike’s men’s movement. If you’re a woman, kick the men in your lives, no matter the age, out of the house and headed to City Hall.

The first step in solving the problem of domestic abuse is to take a stand publicly. Saturday, March 23, at 10 a.m. is the time to do it.
