It was just this past August that MySweetCharity reported that Christian Tavelli was named general manager of the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. He had been the managing director of the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende hotel in Mexico.
Unlike his Mansion predecessor, Duncan Graham, Christian took on a low-profile persona. Most thought he was just getting the lay of the land.
Evidently he was getting the lay of the land elsewhere. Word just came in that Christian is going to be the GM of the Hotel Ritz in Madrid.
It’s interesting to note that the Madrid Ritz is one of the Orient-Express properties. And what’s so fascinating about that besides it’s a stellar hotel? Well, Christian’s old Rosewood boss was John Scott, who was named president and CEO of Orient-Express last November.
It will be like going home for Christian. Prior to working this side of “the pond,” he had worked in Spain.
