Can there ever be a time when there are too many fashion shows? In Dallas? Heck, no! This Friday evening the Alpha Chi Omega chapter at SMU and its Alumnae group are hosting Alpha Chi Couture at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Proceeds will benefit the Genesis Women’s Shelter and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation with the goal to “raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence.”
According to Alpha Chi Couture Co-chair Megan Steinbach, “We have a dedicated board of Alpha Chi Omega collegiates and alumni that contribute countless hours to make this event a success. We’ve continued to receive significant support from our community, which allows us to increase our fundraising goals year over year and bring hope to victims of domestic violence.”
Under the direction of Jan Strimple, the fashions will be provided by Tootsies, Brooks Brothers and WAREhaus.
The silent auction will have loads of little and big goodies like an 18-inch strand of pearls from Bachendorf’s. Hmm, wonder if that’s because Katy Bock is on the host committee?
To help achieve the goal of $75,000, presenting sponsor Lifetime Strategies will be joined by other sponsors including JC Penney, Frost Bank, Model Finance Company, Double S Interests and Kim L. Hix Accountancy Corp.
BTW, even if October is domestic violence month, the problem is year round. . . as if you didn’t know.

Two great beneficiaries.. Genesis Women’s shelter and Alpha Chi Omega.. what two great organizations teaming up… Dallas and Fashion Shows… no never too many.
