Last time Lyle Lovett and His Large Band was seen in these parts was the chilly outdoor concert at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge gala in March. While he admitted that performing at the bridge opening was a first, he probably found CitySquare‘s “2012 A Night to Remember” on September 7 at the Majestic was not as windy or cold.
Following last year’s fundraiser with Jay Leno, Event Co-chairs Cindy and Scott Collier and Kara and Ross Miller decided to slightly change direction by having the 90-minute show of storytelling and singing. The great news is that once again they raised $550,000+.
Presented by South Bay Partners LTD, the concert benefited CitySquare, “the organization that fights poverty in the heart of our city.”
But the night also included a pre-concert reception hosted by Cindy and Scott for 100 sponsors. And after Lyle and his gang finished up, sponsors discovered gifts in their cars labeled “Didn’t You Just Lovett?”
Earlier this month the group hosted a sponsors party at the Dallas Arboretum amid the Dale Chihuly artwork.
