As mentioned earlier, last year’s North Texas Giving Day blasted the Internet and phone lines thanks to the generosity of area residents. This year organizers have manned the battle stations in preparation for a repeat performance on Thursday.
It’s a great day to make a donation to your fav nonprofit. There are more than 1,000 this year.
Up to nearly $1M will be available in matching funds, thanks to some great people and foundations.
And if you’ve ever been curious about the Communities Foundation of Texas headquarters, you’ll have a great reason to check it out by walking in with a donation. Plus they’ll even have entertainment/displays (Amphibian Productions, Anita Martinez Ballet Folklorico, Big Thought, Dallas Shakespeare, Dallas Children’s Theater, Junior Players and SPCA) and food trucks (Easy Slider, Potato-Patahto, Enticed, Rockstar Bakery and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe) on hand, so why not drop off a donation and grab a bite to eat?
The North Texas Giving Day team is ready, so get your
checkbooks and* credit cards warmed up. Will keep you posted on Thursday’s activities as North Texans raise big bucks.
* Sorry, leave your cash and checkbooks at home. Only plastic will work.
