Pat Smith is a gorgeous and smart woman. She has used her talents, intelligence and taste to help so many others. Gee, you’d think Emmitt Smith‘s wife would just sit around in a jersey watching reruns of Dancing With the Stars. But not Pat.
Monday she pulled together The Real Real, a celebrity sale of fabulous clothes and accessories benefiting her Treasure You. While rumors flew that they were Pat’s retread threads, eyewitnesses claim that “most of the items were new with tags still on them!”
Originally it was to run from Monday, August 27 to Wednesday, August 29. Right! It was all over by 10 a.m. Monday.
Robin Roberts*
That’s good for a lot of reasons. Not only did it raise money for Treasure You and make lots of shoppers happy campers, it also freed up Pat to lock down a replacement for “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts, who was scheduled to be the Treasure You retreat/Luncheon featured speaker. But Robin had to pull out due to her undergoing intense health treatments to battle MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease.
Congrats to Pat on the sale and very best wishes to Robin. What do you want to bet that she’ll be the 2013 retreat’s featured speaker and what a story she’ll have to tell.
Will let you know who will be filling in for Robin as soon as Pat locks it down.
UPDATE: In addition to facing a daunting health battle, we regret to report that Robin suffered the loss of her mother overnight.
