After the horrible news about the Parker County dog, some good news was definitely needed to start the day. And MySweetCharity resident Tonie Auer is providing it!
Seems Tonie read Monday’s post about the overcrowded conditions at the Denton Animal Shelter in which there wasn’t even room for guinea pigs and hamster. Well, Tonie reports,
“As a result of the article on the Denton Animal Shelter, I went to adopt a hamster and guinea pig they had there. I found both animals homes yesterday. So, at least two critters were saved by your article.
“Here are pictures of the delightful little animals. They are very sweet, but the folks at the shelter didn’t have any idea how to care for them. They were so happy that we were taking the critters. My daughter didn’t want to let the animals go to their new homes. As a matter of fact, we’re ‘fostering’ the hamster for a few days, so she can play with it before we take it to my friend’s house for her daughter.
”
Thanks, Tonie, for making the trip to Denton and saving the little ones. You made our day!
Now, would anyone like some Yorkie puppies or any other critter you can imagine? Denton’s probably got what you want. Tonie made a difference and you can, too.
Remember tomorrow is Thursday when they euthanize to make room at the shelter.
UPDATE ON UPDATE: The Maltese and Yorkies have been adopted, but the poodle and others are still available in need.
