Saturday, September 15: Sure, September is starting to fill up with all types of lunches, dinner and “stuff,” but they’re aimed at two-legged creatures. If you’re not an animal lover, you can tune off. The reason is that the 4th Annual Wags & Waves will take place at a larger facility.
This year’s gathering of furry and hairy types will be held at NRH2O Waterpark in North Richland Hills. OK, so your usual hangout is within the LBJ universe, but venturing out can be a v-e-r-y good thing, especially when the venue can handle 1,000 attendees — with over 800 canine companions.
Oh, please! You really didn’t expect any self-respecting cat to show up?
Benefiting the Metroplex Animal Coalition and
five of its member groups: Animal Guardians of America, Cat Matchers, DFW Rescue Me, Feral Friends Community Cat Rescue and Legacy Boxer Rescue, sponsorship opportunities start at $300. Vendor spaces are just $175.
Trust us on this one. If you have a Lab, you’re going to make a pooch very happy. If you have a Chinese Crested Hairless, make sure you think “sunscreen.”
Also, all dogs must have complete, up-to-date vaccinations, current rabies shots and be spayed/neutered. Humans must just be charming.
