Don’t know if it’s because gals are emerging from winter hibernation or a sign that the recession recovery may be taking place, but shopping has once again returned as the fav indoor sport in these parts, especially if it’s for fundraising.
For instance, one of the first “departments” to be wiped out at yesterday’s Salvation Army Fashion Show & Luncheon (to be covered soon) shop-a-thon was the three tables of handbags. Like their shoes, Dallas women love their handbags.
Ah, perfect timing! Just got word from Heroes and Handbags General Larissa Linton that the bag booty for Friday’s benefit brunch benefiting Heroes for Children at the Hilton Anatole includes such names as Fendi, Bulgari, Jimmy Choo, Anthony Luciano, Abi Ferrin and “an amazing $4,500 ostrich skin tote from Susie Straubmueller. . . to name a few!”
FYI: Elaine Turner “has designed a custom Bella clutch exclusively for the Heroes and Handbags event!” The good news: They are only $125. The not-so-good news: There will only be 100 available at the brunch. A bargain begging to be bagged!
BTW, if you haven’t got your tickets, hustle or you may end up groveling.

Luckily for the Non Profit’s in Dallas… Groveling has become a way of life.. such fabulous events and all so well executed.. Kudos to all the volunteers that do the work and watch their charity reap the rewards… it’s a Win/Win situation!

Thanks Jeanne!
We have sooo many amazing bags and an incredible speaker who is a childhood cancer survivor. Lots of dollars will be raised to help families who have a child battling cancer.
