The ladies of Crystal Charity Ball played Santa Claus Thursday night at Bailey’s Prime Plus. Usually they don’t make a big show of the distribution, because the ladies of the past year don’t want to distract from the efforts of the present year’s efforts.
(Hmm, am still scratching our collective heads over that last sentence.)
However, this year was very special for Crystal Charity Ball committee members past, present and future. The reason — with this year’s check presentation, CCB has provided $100 million to children’s charities since it was founded in 1952.
CCB 2010 Chair Cynthia Mitchell and 2010 Underwriting Chair Robyn Conlon got to hand out the checks totalling $4,112,273 to the 2010 beneficiaries, who helped past nine-figure mark — Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Children’s Medical Center, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, Parkland Foundation, Texas Home Access Fund and The Family Place.
And to add frosting to this occasion, The Crystal Charity Ball Pediatric Emergency Services Network, “a multi-year project that provides a system of emergency care for all major not-for-profit hospitals in Dallas, received the final funding to complete its $10-million request.”

How breathtaking a watermark moment is this? Incredible. This is truly what ‘charity’is all about.
