Watch out, Harvard, Stanford and Juilliard. It’s Dallas’ Booker T. Washington that’s drawing talent both in the classrooms and to the classrooms. Next week both Glenn Close (Wednesday) and Stephen Sondheim (Thursday) will be in town and have scheduled time to work with the students.
And even after-hour extracurricular activities aren’t too shabby either. Tonight 150 kids will be at the AR Rahman concert at the American Airlines Center as guests of the promoter. Seems the concert didn’t sell out, so smart promoter provided the kiddos with $75 tickets.
If AR doesn’t sound familiar, you probably know him as the composer of “Slumdog Millionaire.”
